Private lakefront cottage on Duck Lake -4 minutes to Lake Michigan
Charming 3 bedroom 2 bath cottage on 313 -acre all sports Duck Lake.
The dunes and sugar-sand beaches of the eastern shore of Lake Michigan are a short 4 minute drive from the cottage. Ample parking is available at Duck Lake State Park. The 728 -acre day use park affords over one half-mile of public beach access.
Michigan’s Adventure is also just an 8 minute drive way.
The living room/dining room is spacious. The patio, situated on a bluff, overlooks Duck Lake and a mature parklike setting. A set of stairs provides access to the lakefront down a 26′ bluff and past a cottage, currently not available or accessible to guests, that once was part of Lake Park Resort (1914-1937). The private lakefront features 89′ of shoreline, a dock, swim ladder, mooring post, picnic table, and fire pit.

We really enjoyed kayaking on Duck Lake directly in front of the home. We saw a juvenile bald Eagle, fish, turtles and a comorant.
There are a lot of stairs down a steep hill and then a short walk to access the fire pit and dock. It would be tough on anyone elderly or handicapped.
The manager was very welcoming! She had farm fresh eggs and homemade jam waiting upon our arrival. The kitchen had lots of cookware, coffee pot and a 4-slice toaster. Seating at indoor and outdoor tables both accommodated 8.
The only negative was no air conditioning so bring a few fans in the summer.
I would definitely come back again!

We had a wonderful stay here. This is our second summer renting for 1 week. I grew up in Whitehall and love to bring my family back for a vacation. We love Duck Lake for kayaks, paddle boards, and sunfish sailboats. The house is well appointed and we especially enjoy the path to the lake and dock, the books left to read, and the games played by everyone. The washer/dryer is great to have, especially for wet beach towels. The weather was great this year and we went to the beach everyday. The grill and outdoor table/chairs were used to cook and eat outside. I think our favorite restaurants are Pekadils for lunch (we discovered they bake fresh pecan and cinnamon rolls on Sunday mornings!) and Hobos for dinner-try the local perch dinner. A trip to pick local blueberries is a must-we leave with 20lbs. of the best Michigan blueberries. Fetch in town is fun for craft beers and we happened to catch the annual classic car show this year. All in all, a wonderful week for family memories. No problems with the house and Melanie and Rhonda are great to work with.

It was very clean and the pictures were very accurate. Loved the walk down to, and the view of the lake from the house. It’s a classic cottage and we really enjoyed ourselves.
